Dr. Febo has recently published two review articles in the journals of Frontiers in Biosciences and Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience. In Frontiers Biosciences, Febo and colleagues in their article “Dopamine homeostasis: brain functional connectivity in reward deficiency syndrome” review the literature on Reward deficiency syndrome and argue that loss of homeostasis of may lead to ‘unbalanced’ functional networks that might be both cause and outcome of disrupted synaptic communication between cortical and subcortical systems essential for controlling reward, emotional control, sensation seeking, and chronic drug use. In Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience, Febo and Dr. Thomas Foster in their article “Preclinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy Studies of Memory, Aging, and Cognitive Decline“, review the current research employing animal MRI and MRS in the study of brain function, structure, and biochemistry, with a particular focus on age-related cognitive decline.
